What is a Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) and how does it work?
A CDU is the central thermal management unit in a liquid cooling system. It circulates coolant between your IT equipment (miners or servers) and the facility’s heat rejection system (dry cooler or cooling tower). The CDU maintains a clean, closed secondary loop — keeping your hardware isolated from facility water and controlling coolant temperature, pressure, and flow rate automatically.
Which CDU capacity do I need for my mining farm?
Calculate your total ASIC power draw and add 20% headroom. For example, 200 × Antminer S21 Hydro (5,360W each) = 1,072kW total — a 1MW CDU with adequate margin. Our engineering team provides free capacity sizing consultations for any project above 500kW.
Are DroLin CDUs compatible with Antminer S19/S21 Hydro and Whatsminer M56?
Yes. All DroLin CDUs are fully compatible with Bitmain Antminer S19/S21 Hydro series, MicroBT Whatsminer M56/M30/M50 series, and Canaan Avalon Hydro miners. Coolant outlet temperature of 35°C ±1°C meets manufacturer specifications for all major ASIC brands.
What coolant types do DroLin CDUs support?
Standard configuration supports purified (deionized) water and water-glycol mixtures for cold-climate deployments down to -20°C ambient. We also support custom coolant specifications for special applications — contact us to discuss corrosion inhibitor requirements for your site.
What is the lead time from order to delivery?
Standard models (200kW–1MW) ship within 15–25 business days from order confirmation. Custom configurations or high-volume orders: 30–45 days. All units ship pre-commissioned from our Hangzhou factory with full test reports included.
Do CDUs require a dry cooler or cooling tower on-site?
The CDU requires a heat rejection unit on the primary (facility) side. The 100kW model includes a dry cooler. Larger models (200kW–1MW) require a separate dry cooler or cooling tower sized to match — we supply these as part of a complete cooling solution and can help specify the correct unit for your climate and site.
